I am in the process of buying a new Sat Nav and thinking to buy a Garmin Nuvi, however i was wondering how long Garmin provides map updates? There is an old article back from 2011 with the forums, however i wanted to know if its still relevant. Do Garmin really provide updates for the lifetime of the device or does the device stop working after a couple of years like apple does with its Ipads where the device cannot handle the software updates?

From version 2016 Q4 on, OFRM map products support the InstaSearch and Address Search Greyout fuctions, which makes searching in the map both easier and faster.
The InstaSearch function enables you to search for all categories of data in the map (settlements, residential districts, adrdresses, POIs, etc.) using the Fast Search box, located on the 'Where To?' screen (if your model has a Fast Search box).
When searching in a specific category (for example, searching for an address, using 'Where To?' > 'Address'), with each entered symbol, the Address Search Greyout function will grey out all symbols on the virtual keyboard, which do not lead to an existing search match. This makes it much easier to complete typing in the rest of the address, regardless of the selected keyboard layout.
Expanded detailed coverage
Detailed coverage for searching by street name/intersection by 10 new settlements.
The map also includes new points of interest in various categories.

Which JCV is need to download according GPS model?
I'm trying to find any reference to know which JCV I have to download depending on GPS model since I've got two and in downloads two folders are offered: 34xx and 4x-5x. Also lately they don't make distinction between splitscreen and fullscreen.
I've tried searching the info onGoogle DuckDuckGo, but I haven't found anything :'-(

WIN CE Start up screen
Had IGO 8 onDigoptions in dash unit with Hema Off road. Took IGO * off the card and installed IGO Prima as better programme.
Works great but can not access the Offroad section. Originally home screen had a Street navigation and Offroad Icons,Press to selectn Now unit goes directly to IGO.Obviously lost somthing in start up programe. Also have a Hema 7 and would like in car and the Hema running the same programsas less confusing for us oldies.Is this possible. Thanking you

getting can not unlock maps 7612xsv
HI, wondering if anyone has seen this on a chartplotter screen. I inserted a map I got from here and this came up. I checked the list for units that need patching but its not on there. Actually do not see any chartplotters on that list. If someone has an idea I would love to learn more about what has happened.

tomtom on car stereo device with android 4.4.2. ???
Hi there,
Is there any tutorial or so where I can find something to get tomtom on my car device?
I try to do so as i used to do on my smartphone but I can't connect it with a pc.
There is no USB connection.
There are 2 sd slots and try to install true these but no result .... :-(

SDCARD Subaru 2012 update ...
Hi, I do not know if you can help me with the SD update. I have seen that the maps can be downloaded from any internet site (they are the same) ... but the problem I have in the license.
I can get the CID from the card, or change the CID, but then I do not know how to find a license compatible with the CID.
As far as I believe, the license is linked to the CID, if there was a way to find out the CID of a license ... I think I could do the update.
Any progress?

q, 1Where does iGO keep settings for Folder name? For example if it must be named iGO or iGO_Basar
, can we change that? Can I edit that part do I can use whatever name I want. Fkr example instalation folder to be named My_Navi etc?

WIN CE 9.19.5.653580 - HNR Files in 2016 Q4 Version needed
Hey guys,
i try to get the HNR files running but they are shown red and cant be used. So i tried to ignore like this:

But the files are further red marked so maybe the license is wrong ?!

I have a Navigon 70/71 Premium Car with a 8GB SD-card. I'm using it in a VW UP
When starting up it shows:
