This happens when the navigation unit detects data corruption while loading maps. It is almost always the result of a map section update gone wrong. In many cases the root cause is an engine shutdown while a map update is in progress. I have heard of (rare) cases where an update failed without an apparent cause though.
The only known solution that you can apply yourself is to reinstall map sections until the error no longer appears.
For each map section wait until the final error message ("Insert navigation CD") appears, then insert the USB drive with the map update and reinstall the section. It is important to wait for that final error message or the attempt to reinstall may fail and may even make things worse. Make sure to check after every section if the error has gone (do not reinstall map sections back to back).
You probably want to verify the integrity of the map data on the USB drive before you try to reinstall. On Windows you can use a program like ExactFile to open and process the .md5 file in the map distribution package.
