Hi,
Sorry for probably bringing up what may seem obvious to some, but I cannot find the answer here.
I seem to have bricked a Garmin Nuvi T1390, which was perfectly serviceable despite my drilling into it to attach an audio out socket. I think I did the damage by replacing the original image file with a different one (following someone else's advice!). Now, even after deleting all the user data using the forced reset, the screen only loads to about 2/3 of the green bar (someone told me you need about 500mb free ...).
Problem is - I use Ubuntu. I found the post 'how to unbrick ...' here, but those Garmin urls for software no longer work.
Any suggestions to progress? I've tried downloading Virtualbox to Ubuntu to set up a windows xp capability, but now have problems getting that to connect to the net ... and I have concerns about security in the event that succeeds anyway.
Any ideas? Or should I just go find an old windows machine.
Thanks for any suggestions,
