Wow, haven't heard those words for what seems like a lifetime.
What's with the politically correct image?
Girls were never allowed to play.
I also remember one called Bedlam, both Bedlam & Red Rover got banned from our school in Cairns in the 1970's.
Too many kids getting hurt, things dislocated, the occasional bone failure, lol.
Just imagine if some students tried to play those games nowdays?
Some twit would panic, pee their pants & then call the police, three quarters of the suburb would be cordoned off & put on lockdown, all sorts of negotiators & counsellors would be called in.
Then in the aftermath there'd be months of intensive therapy etc. etc. etc....
