I am preparing to purchase a Garmin Montana 680 or 680T. The two diffs are memory (4GB vs. 8GB) and the topo 100K. I have heard that topo 100k is not that good so I was planning to get topo 24k. So I have two questions.
1. Is there any value in getting 100k if I get 24k?
2. Is there a need to have 8GB of memory or is 4GB enough?
Here are my intended uses in order of importance.
1. ATV - loading third party maps (only a few hundred MB), tracks and waypoints and perhaps a few photo waypoints.
2. Auto- loading citynav and some routes and waypoints along with a few photo waypoints. I don't travel much.
3. Snowmobile- same as ATV.
Being new to GPS's I don't know how fast data usage occurs and if I'm not thinking of everything in terms of usage.
Thanks!
