AVIC-U280 combined with the AVH-X4800BS

Got the new AVIC-U280 and really like it. Mapping does not seem as sophisticated as my Garmin NUVI 2557 this unit replaced, but having the GPS built in and working on the AVH-X4800BS head unit far out weighs that, in my eyes.

Read all the complaints about the AVIC-U260 about slow boot up time, low volume levels and such and this new U280 does not seem to display these problems. Volume is plenty loud (had to turn it down) and the GPS boots up within a few seconds of the HU boot time. Plus the U280 is far more configurable than the NUVI is.

So far, the accuracy is good, but at times, the text to talk has a hard time figuring out what the names should be pronounced as, but the NUVI had that problem too.

All in all, a nice unit that was easily installed, is easily and highly configurable and is accurate. Very satisfied.

Now if I could only get the AVH-X4800BS to work in "Mirror Mode" with my Galaxy S7.....:beating: Seems to work fine, except display is garbled, like the video format from the S7 is not compatable with the X4800. The proper screens are displays (I think), the HU screen does show when I touch the S7 screen and change stuff and HU displays changes when the S7 screen changes, just can't read the HU image.

Have tried everything from plugging directly into the USB port on HU, using USB3 cable, using short cable, changing all the settings on the S7. Nothing works. Hopefully either Pioneer or Samsung / Android will come up with a fix at some point. My iPAD works just fine with the HU but is slooooooooow (an old S5 I have hanging around worked, too), so I think it's a Samsung / Android issue with the S7.
